What’s the difference between Coaching and Therapy?
As the fields of Coaching and Therapy both evolve there is a lot of overlap.
Both support people to navigate the normal, and sometimes painful ups and downs of the human condition. Both can help people to gain more clarity and take actions that will support their capacity to live a rich, full and meaningful life.
Therapists (and other mental health professionals) however, play an additional role as clinicians. Meaning they are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of clinical mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, OCD, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder etc. that are outside the scope of coaching.
If you have a clinical disorder and are receiving treatment from a licensed mental health provider, it’s possible that Hakomi Integrated Coaching might be an appropriate complementary support but not a substitute for your current treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
I know that coaching is an investment, both in terms of time and money - and that you are here because you are so ready for things to change. However, I can’t tell you how many sessions this will take.
A core principle of Hakomi is Organicity: the recognition and honoring of each person’s individuality. I fully believe that you can and will grow and evolve in accordance with your inner wisdom toward greater self-discovery and freedom.
Part of our work will be clarifying what you are hoping to get out of coaching and how we will know when it’s the right time to pause or complete.
What is your fee?
$150 per 60 minute session. This includes a co-created email with takeaways, practices and action items.
Do you have a sliding scale?
Yes. I have a sliding scale. If you are in need of a sliding scale please let me know.
Can I use my insurance?
No, unfortunately, Insurance does not cover coaching, however, you may be able to use your HSA.
